BNB Chain is back ahead of Solana for neobank volume

Solana passed BNB Chain for neobank volume in August by $93,163. Thirteen days into September, BNB Chain leads again by $181,945. We said the August crossing was fragile and that we would report a reversal in the same place; this is it.

On 7 September we reported that Solana had passed BNB Chain for neobank volume in August — by $93,163, or 0.8%. We wrote that one large depositor moving the other way would have reversed it, and that if it reversed in September we would say so.

Thirteen days into September:

ChainSep 1 – 13August

Solana$1,998,832$4,558,247

BNB Chain leads by $181,945.

What we would take from it

This is a partial month, and the order could flip again before 30 September. We are not calling a new trend in the other direction.

What it does confirm is the caveat we attached in August: the Solana crossing was the product of one venue's routing — Chipper was 94% of the move — rather than neobanks broadly shifting chains. A lead that depends on one company's product decision is exactly the kind that reverses in a fortnight.

We will report the full September ordering when the month closes.

Method

Attributed stablecoin deposit volume for the neobanks category, split by chain, for 1–13 September 2026 against the calendar month of August 2026. Deposit-side only. September is a partial month and the ordering can change again before it closes; the comparison is between chains within the same thirteen days, not between September and August totals.
